Most of us buy a house before a car but want to buy a car because we’ve already saved a budget and wondered which car is best to keep up with trends.

The threat posed by the coronavirus pandemic instilled fear and uncertainty, resulting in economic turmoil.

Most auto brand sales in the Philippines fell in 2020, as expected, due to limited economic activity and widespread restrictions in the Philippines.

The local auto industry is starting to recover with the top 6 best-selling car models in the Philippines. Here is a list of the best-selling cars in the Philippines.

The Toyota Vios

With 19,589 units sold in 2020, the Toyota Vios is the best-selling car in the Philippines. Notably, the Vios was also the car that sold the most units in the Philippines in 2019. TMP is currently selling the facelifted Vios for Php 671,000, with the top-spec G CVT variant costing Php 1,056,000.

Hilux Toyota

The Toyota Hilux comes in second with 10,642 units sold. In 2020, Toyota updated its midsize pickup truck. TMP released a facelifted version of the Hilux with a new and more powerful 2.8-liter diesel engine capable of producing 201 hp and 500 Nm of torque. The top-of-the-line Hilux Conquest 4×4 with Emotional Red exterior paint costs Php 1,850,000.

The Toyota Innova

The Filipinos’ preference for seven-seater family vehicles is one of the reasons why the Toyota Innova remains one of the best-selling models in the country. TMP sold 7,375 units of the Innova MPV in 2020, but there are reports that Toyota will introduce a facelifted version of the Innova in the first quarter of 2021.

Ranger Ford

The Ford Ranger is the first non-Toyota car in the top six best-selling automobiles of 2020, with 6,850 units sold in the Philippines. In the Philippines, the Ranger is available in 14 variants with a starting price of 1,032,000 pesos. Last year, a redesigned Ranger made its debut in Thailand. As a result, there’s a chance that Ford PH will release the new Ranger in 2021.

Wigo Toyota

With 9,145 units sold in 2020, the Wigo subcompact hatchback is still one of the most popular TMP models. This vehicle was also updated last year but kept the same 1.0L petrol engine.

Toyota Hiace

TMP’s dominance in the top six best-selling cars in the Philippines in 2020 continues with the Hiace. Last year, 7,073 Hiace sold. TMP offers several variant options for the Hiace, beginning with the Commuter Cargo trim, which starts at Php 1,101,000. The top-spec Hiace GL Grandia Tourer in Luxury Pearl, on the other hand, costs Php 2,334,000.
